Tom Basden + Franz Kafka = Joseph K

A guitar wielding, Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and sketch comedian probably wouldn’t be the first thing to jump out at you if you were pondering the works of novelist Franz Kafka. But this winter Tom Basden is bringing his vision of Kafka’s The Trial to the stage. Joseph K will be hitting The Gate in Notting Hill between November 11th – December 18th. Basden’s no stranger to theatre having written and starred in the excellent The Party last year and he’ll appear in Joseph K alongside his chum and regular collaborator Tim Key.

The Trial is hardly a laugh-riot so it’s going to be very interesting to see what comes out of this but credit to Basden for having a run at something a little out of the ordinary.

Here’s a short taster of Tom.
